Our skilled employees offer the material knowledge and process expertise to assist you in procuring the right heat treatment process for your projects. You have the security of several physical plant locations with outstanding backup process capabilities to assure your commercial heat treating experience with Hudapack is unmatched.

Take a closer look at the services we provide:

ATMOSPHERE HARDENING

Hudapack supports a wide range of atmosphere heat treating services including carburizing, carbonitriding, neutral hardening, carbon restoration, annealing, normalizing, stress relieving and cryogenic treatment. Our batch internal quench furnaces are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation to ensure superior heat treating quality, through precise control of temperature, atmospheres and time.

We can also process parts to meet straightness specifications. Secondary services such as straightening, and blasting are also available. We also offer black oxide and plating processes through outside services.

ATMOSPHERE CARBURIZING

Hudapack offers a three-zone continuous atmosphere carburizing furnace with integral quench. This furnace, with automatic atmosphere controls, paperless charting and a nitrogen safety purge system, can treat up to 1,000 pounds per hour, subject to part configuration and case depth. After carburizing or carbonitriding, parts can be either atmosphere cooled or oil quenched. This is ideal for deep case hardening of 0.050 inches or greater.

INDUCTION HARDENING ANNEALING

Hudapack is a full service provider for a wide variety of induction hardening needs. Our induction-hardening capabilities can accommodate case depths of .010 inches to .600 inches with scan lengths up to 48 inches. We can also process a broad range of steels suitable for induction hardening in lots between one and 10,000 parts per day.

INDUCTION FASTENER HEATING

Hudapack specializes in the induction hardening of fasteners, shafts, gears and other parts that require selective hardening. Our equipment includes automatic fastener hardening to harden the tips of self-tapping screws. Our bowl feeder lines are capable of hardening 6,000 to 20,000 parts per hour, depending on size and configuration.

VACUUM PROCESSING

Hudapack’s capabilities in vacuum processing include stainless steel solution annealing, precipitation hardening, homogenizing of cast structures, normalizing, aging and tempering. We also support tool steel and high-speed steel hardening. Vacuum processing prevents scaling or decarburizing of the work surface with either nitrogen or argon gas quench.

Aluminum Processing

Hudapack offers air or fan-blast quenching of aluminum as well as still or agitated water from ambient temperature to 180°F. We can anneal material to condition “0” and most all temper designations (T4, T6, etc.) We can also process any heat-treatable alloys and castings. Our furnaces are surveyed to +/- 10°F, including a new furnace which offers 12 charted thermocouples for outstanding uniformity. Hudapack’s aluminum furnaces can process parts up to 8 feet long x 4 feet high x 4 feet deep.
